Brits cancel subscriptions in record numbers!
Date: February 29, 2024
In the headlines this morning:
“Brits cancel subscriptions in record numbers.”
Intrigued, I clicked.
As it turns out, Brits are indeed cancelling subscriptions in record numbers - 1.5 million in the last 3 months alone.
Not that that’s surprising, given the state of the economy.
But boy, it must be giving Netflix a bit of a fright.
The thing is:
The subscription business, in many cases, is a dirty business. They make their money when you forget you ever signed up to it.
I.e it’s easy money.
The problem?
The easy days are gone.
Now time’s are tough, and everyone’s last dollar counts.
That’s why you’ve got to remind people - especially now - why your products are important in the first place.
And no, that doesn’t mean sending pretty pictures to their inbox.
It means sitting down and thinking:
What problems does your product actually solve?
And why is dealing with that problem worth spending £20 a month?
If you can’t tell them that…
News flash:
They’re gonna cancel. And rightly so.
=> My question to you:
How often are you reminding your customers the problems you solve?
If you’re like 92% of businesses, not enough.
